These terms are the rules for playing the games on Countryballs (https://countryballs.org), starting with Countryball Defenders, made by Insoola Information Technology Solutions ("sxon", "we", "us"), a company in the Philippines. By playing, u agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If u don't agree, please don't play. (The locals will be sad, but they will live.)
The short version
- Play fair and be kind.
- Coins, gems, balls and skins are for fun inside the game. They have no cash value.
- Payments go through Xsolla on the website and through Google Play in our Android app. All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where the law or the store's own rules require a refund.
- The game will change over time, and we'll tell u about the big changes.
1. Who can play
U must be at least 13 years old to play. If u are under 18 (or under the age of majority where u live), a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for u and must allow any purchase.
2. Ur save
Our server keeps ur save, and ur browser keeps its key (ur save code). Keep the code secret: anyone who has it can play ur save. If u lose it and have not linked Google, we may not be able to get ur save back. Each save is for one player. Don't sell, buy or share saves.
3. Play fair
Please don't:
- cheat, or use bots, scripts, auto-clickers or modified versions of the game;
- exploit bugs (report them instead, we will be very grateful);
- mess with our servers or other players' saves, or overload the service;
- copy, sell or reverse engineer the game, except where the law allows it.
Our server replays every battle, and results that don't add up are rejected. If u break these rules, we may reset progress, remove u from the ranks, or suspend or delete ur save.
4. Names, chat and messages
Be kind. Player names, chat messages and private messages to friends must not contain hate, harassment, threats, sexual content, spam, personal information about anyone, impersonation or anything illegal. We may change a name, remove messages, and mute or ban players who break these rules. In the game, u can block a player and report a chat line, a private message or a player; u can also write to ben@insoola.org.
What u write stays yours, but u allow us to store it and show it in the game for as long as it is there.
5. Virtual items
Coins, gems, cards, balls, skins and other in-game items give u a limited, personal license to use them in the game. They have no cash value, are not ur property, and can't be exchanged for real money or sold, traded or transferred outside the game. We may change, rebalance or remove items, for example to fix bugs or keep the game fair. We publish the Summit's odds on our website, on the Countryball Defenders page.
Summit odds. Summons and new looks are paid with gems, which u can earn by playing or buy. Each summon gives one ball: Common 57%, Rare 29%, Epic 10.5%, Legendary 3%, Mythic 0.5%. From the 40th summon without a Legendary or better, those odds climb with every summon. Every 10x summon holds at least one Epic or better, a Legendary or better comes within 50 summons, and a Mythic within 180, always. A ball u already own turns into 7 wild cards. Each new look: Common 60%, Rare 27%, Epic 10%, Legendary 2.5%, Mythic 0.5%; every 10x holds an Epic or better, and a Legendary or better comes within 40 pulls. If the odds change, we update them here and on the game page.
6. Purchases
- Paid items are sold through Xsolla, our payment partner and merchant of record. Xsolla's terms and privacy policy apply to the payment itself.
- In our Android app, paid items are sold through Google Play instead. Google Play's terms apply to the payment itself, and refunds there follow Google Play's refund rules.
- Prices are shown in the checkout before u pay, including taxes where they apply.
- Items arrive in ur save once Xsolla or Google Play confirms the payment. If something doesn't arrive, write to ben@insoola.org with ur order number.
- All purchases are final and non-refundable, except where the law where u live requires a refund.
- If u live in the EU or the UK, u normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Our items are delivered right away: by buying, u ask for immediate delivery and agree that u lose this right once the items are delivered. This does not affect ur rights if an item is faulty or never arrives.
- If a payment is reversed or refunded, we may remove the items it bought (or their value) from ur save.
- If u are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before buying.
7. Our game
The game, its code, art, music, characters and text belong to sxon or to the people who licensed them to us. We give u a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to play it for fun, not for commercial use. Flags belong to their countries, and the countryball style comes from a big community of artists: we are fans.
U may stream and share videos and screenshots of ur play, including on monetised channels, as long as u don't suggest that we endorse u.
8. Just for fun
Countryball Defenders is a comedy game. Countries are cartoon balls with silly habits. It is not a political statement, and it is not about any real person.
9. Changes to the game and to these terms
We keep improving the game, so features, balance and items will change. We may pause or end the game; if we end it, we will try to tell u in the game well in advance. Unused virtual items are not refunded when the game ends, except where the law requires it.
If we change these terms, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and tell u in the game about important changes. If u keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
10. Ending
U can stop playing at any time and delete ur save in the game's Settings, or ask us to delete it (see our Privacy Policy and our delete page). We may suspend or end ur access if u break these terms or the law. The parts of these terms that should naturally last, like those on virtual items, disclaimers and liability, still apply after that.
11. No guarantees
We work hard on the game, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available or free of bugs, or that a save can never be lost.
12. Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unexpected losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to u is limited to what u paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here affects ur rights as a consumer.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Philippines, and the courts of the Philippines can hear any dispute about them. If u are a consumer, u keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where u live, and u can bring a claim in ur local courts.
